Introduction to the MTD2000B:
  • The MTD2000B digital earth tester is designed to measure earth resistance, soil resistivity, and spurious voltages caused by parasitic currents in the soil. It is ideal for quick and easy measurement of grounding resistance in various installations, including residential, industrial buildings, hospitals, lightning rods, antennas, and substations. Soil resistivity measurement enables soil stratification, optimizing complex grounding systems.

  • With an advanced system of active and passive filters, the MTD2000B has high immunity to electrical interference, ensuring accurate measurements even in urban areas or near primary substations where spurious voltages are common.

  • A 1,470 Hz internal generator injects alternating current into the soil via an auxiliary rod. The apparatus measures the voltage over the earth resistance, and the resistance value is then calculated. The test current is automatically limited for safety.

  • The device includes a rechargeable internal battery with a smart, microprocessor-controlled charger that can be powered from a 100 - 240 V mains adapter or a 12 V car power outlet.
